Il Personal Computer IBM 5155 era una dei primi computer portatili che IBM aveva sviluppato dopo il successo di Compaq, la distribuzione era iniziata nel febbraio del 1984.
Il portatile era fondamentalmente un PC / XT (8088) con 256 kbytes di memoria (espandibile a 640 kbytes), una scheda grafica CGA, un Monitor in bianco e nero (ambra) ed uno o due Floppy Drive da 5.25 360K.
