Neat! I’m an Aussie but have never seen this. I’m guessing it wasn’t endorsed by Commodore, or were Australian dealers selling macihnes like this?

Wow, haven’t seen one of these in years. I didn’t realise they were actually made in SA. I bought one form a local dealer in maybe 1988. I think I paid $30 or $35 for it.
They wouldn’t have been Commodore endorsed, but marketed to enthusiasts who wanted to make their breadbin look like a 64C, which is exactly what I did.

well 20 yrs ago i read in a paper ad that a c64 was for sale.

when i turn up and see it i got really surprised.

i’ve now realised that i most likely have the old
breadbin board with the old sid chip.

Yes made in South Australia, injection mould made in SA Also as was all the case kits, all done by local people, sold 10′s of thousands locally and all over the world, never needed o be endorse by Commodore, it was the wild west back then, same manufacturer had the licence for dolphin dos in Australia also (along with many other products), about 60% of all made went to Aussie dealer with the rest shipping worldwide.

It was actually a really good well made product using a unique plastic at the time that we believed would not yellow, the design and engineering that went into this is quite a story also

Hi Rob, I am trying to find the makers of these cases from SA. You seem to know quite abit about them, do you know the names of the people from Micro Accessories of SA (the other companies involved are long gone so can’t contact them). Thanks
