Hyperkin Supaboy S – RGB Svideo Hack
Hyperkin Supaboy S – RGB/Svideo HACK
I have decided to make this hack because the native video output of the Hyperkin Supaboy S is really bad, uses the composite video.
The photos with the LCD monitor use the SVIDEO output while the photos with the Sony CRT monitor use the RGB output.
The photos and the schematic describe very well the work that needs to be done, the hack is not complex but you always have to be makes particularly attention to the SMD (CXA 1645M) side welds.

Will this mod work with the normal supaboy?
@Richard
Hi Richard,
Probably, yes but i dont have the old model of supaboy.
Pretty cool mod! I would love to see an RGB or at least svideo screen on the inside. The built in screen also looks horrible.
@16bitgium
The native LCD Screen is COMPOSITE! TERRIBLE! :(
Did you make the cable yourself or did you repurpose an existing one? What connector did you use inside the supaboy? Thanks!
Dear,
I need to do a tv out cable to my supaboy S. Do you have the correct pattern of cables p2 -> RCA? I bought one and doesn´t work
tks a lot
@MARCELO GARCIA
I have to find the right pinout on my original cable.
Hi,
I’m new to doing video output mods like this so I figured this would be a good place to start. I see for the S Video install that you have an array of resistors installed on a piece of breadboard. I was wondering why this needs to be done and if you could list the ohm values of the resistors since a few of the color bands are hidden. Thanks for the write up
@Bulgogi19
Additionally, I see that guides for S-Video out mods on SNES Jr’s also include a 0.1 uF cap on chroma and a 220uF cap on luma. Just wanted to know if those are also included somewhere not visible.
Hello friend could you help me to use the retrogen but if the av cable, I would like to know how to make that modification
