Sometimes really hard to get them clean again, so you might need to actually rub them clean. But be caraful with the upper head since it is a bit fragile. It's not exactly this case but maybe you are familar with my issue with 2 Chinon FB-354 drives. Unfortunately I damaged 2 of those babies from my A2000 with an original driver disk (!). Since I tried to ready that disk, they aren't reading any disks anymore. It seemed that the disk was spinning somehow bad. But actually I don't have any idea what happend to the drives and where I can start to repair them. As those two are in great shape (except this issue) I would love to repair them.
