La “High Voltage SID Collection (HVSC)” è un collezione che raccoglie migliaia di brani musicali del Commodore 64 (noti anche come brani SID).
Questa collezione e’ completamente gratuita ed e’ opera di un Team di persone che negli anni ha lavorato per rendere la migliore raccolta di SID tunes.
This update features (all approximates):
- 658 new SIDs
- 66 fixed/better rips
- 3 repeats/bad rips eliminated
- 174 SID credit fixes
- 27 SID model/clock infos
- 7 tunes from /DEMOS/UNKNOWN/ identified

Non ho resistito alla tentazione e ho voluto provare anche questa nuova implementazione FPGA “speriamo sia l’ultimo!” del SID (Sound Interface Device) 6581 / 8580, sto parlando dell’fpgaSID di andi6510.
Probabilmente questa e’ la migliore implementazione utilizzando un FPGA del chip sonoro del Commodore 64, se facciamo una veloce comparazione con l’implementazione fatta da Gideon per l’Ultimate-64, sono ambedue le migliori di sempre.
Resta comunque inteso che gli audiofili e puristi del suono generato dal SID originale non accetteranno mai qualsiasi implementazione del SID via FPGA.
Andi6510 inoltre ha scritto un software per Commodore 64 (ConfiGuru) per configurare le varie opzioni dell’fpgaSID e la possibilita di aggiornare il firmware.

Si consiglia sempre di utilizzare l’ultima versione del firmware.

Note:
Galencia is the winner of the Reset64 Magazine 2017 Commodore 64 Game of the Year Award. It is a colourful, highly polished, Galaga inspired single-screen shoot-em-up.
Jay has worked really hard to produce a special version of Galencia just for THEC64 Mini and its 720p display, and it makes maximum use of the upper and lower borders for graphics, right up to the edge of the screen! Be aware however, that some HD TVs might crop some of these border graphics when displaying the 720p image. This is not a fault with Galencia or the Mini and we recommend that you refer to your TV settings.
Please be aware there is currently a 256 item limit (files and/or folders) to assist improved USB memory stick performance.

Questo Commodore Amiga 600 e’ arrivato in laboratorio immacolato ancora con il sigillo di garanzia.
Subito dopo dissasemblato ho immeditamente notato che c’erano diversi problemi di acido rilasciato dai condensatori e sporcizia che interessavano questo povero Amiga 600 e il suo Floppy Drive.
Un condensatore di disaccopiamento era esploso con tanto di cratere lato PCB , risolto questo problema ho iniziato a sostituire tutti i condensatori elettrolitici e a pulire lo stampato con prodotti specifici.
Finita la sostituzione dei condensatori elettrolitici ho provato ad accendere l’amiga che apparentamente funzionava, peccato per l’audio distorto e il floppy drive che leggeva 1 volta su 100.
Ho dovuto sostituire il condensatore elettrolitico del Floppy Drive e subito dopo ho cercato il guasto per il problema audio che al 99% e’ sempre il solito LF374.
In questo caso non era solo LF374 ma anche una resistenza da 10ohm che non lasciava passare i +12v per l’integrato LF374 e un condensatore ceramico di disaccopiamento in corto circuito.
Componenti che sono stati sostituiti:
- Integrato LF374 sotituito come uno pienamente compatibile TL084C (U15)
- Resitenza da 10Ohm (R301)
- Condensatore da 330nF (C301)
- Condensatore da 330nF (C41)
Purtroppo le saldature dell’LF374 non sono venute benissimo come mi piace fare ma le piazzole era distrutte e corrose dall’acido e si stavano per staccare, anzi la piazzola del piedino 2 dell’ LF374 si era proprio staccata , ecco il perche’ del piedino 1 e 2 dell’integrato LF374 collegati assieme, erano collegati tramite la piazzola.

La tastiera Commodore-SX64 dopo un po’ di tempo potrebbe non funzionare correttamente (tutti o alcuni tasti). In questo caso, la tastiera necessita di alcune operazioni di pulizia e riparazione.
Prima di tutto bisogna disassemblare la tastiera, prestare particolare attenzione alle viti, questa plastica è molto vecchia e non di buona qualita’, si rompe solo a guardarla.
Bisogna staccare delicatamente la membrana e pulire con alcool tutti i contatti metallici sul pcb della tasiera e pulire anche tutte le piazzole di contatto sulla membrana senza alcool.
Successivamente ho preso un prodotto che contiene grafite (Keypad Fix) per ricostruire il connettore sulla membrana semplicemente applicando uno strato molto sottile di grafite sui contatti.
