Un’utente del Forum Commodore128.org ha organizzato un ‘Coding competition’ per il Commodore 128.

Di seguito le regole e i premi.

RULES:

• Entries must be original programs.
• Entries must NOT be larger than 4096 bytes (4kb)
• The result must be playable on a real 128 and VICE.
• The competition starts Saturday October 29th 2011 at 5pm EST (Australian, not US)
• Entries must be submitted on or before April 1st, 2012.
• Entries must only be for the 128′s 40 or 80 colum modes – CP/M & 64 modes will be ineligible.
• There will be a competion page at www.commodore128.org with the submissions & you’ll have the opportunity to vote for your favourite game (which will determine the winners).
• All entries must be released under GPL & with the source included.

SUBMISSIONS:

• Submissions must be made by email to landover (at) tpg.com.au
• Format of submissions to be in either D81, D64 or PRG format & then zipped.

PRIZES:

• 1st prize of $AU100
• 2nd prize of $AU50
• 3rd prize of $AU25

L’Atari Mega ST e’ stato il primo Computer della serie ST per la linea Professionale. Con 1MB o 4MB di memoria (espandibile con schede aggiuntive), l’aggiunta del blitter per migliorare le prestazioni grafiche e uno slot di espansione Megabus si piazzava nel mercato come un computer adatto per il Desktop Publishing … ma non solo.

Il Mega ST probabilmente e’ stato il modello meglio riuscito dall’Atari, aveva una tastiera di qualità molto elevata, separata da un solido case. Tuttavia, questi modelli vennero prodotti in numero limitato poiché erano molto costosi da produrre.

La qualità maggiore della serie Atari ST era la sua relativa economicità, nell’ambito dei personal computer, rispetto ad altre macchine dell’epoca, tecnicamente non molto dissimili da esso, ma ben più costose, come il Macintosh Plus.

Fu proprio il favorevole rapporto qualità/prezzo di queste macchine a decretarne un buon successo (ebbe una buona diffusione in Europa, in particolar modo in Germania).

Non sono passate neanche 6 ore dall’uscita ufficiale del nuovo Firmware per l’interfaccia 1541 Ultimate di Gideon che Daniel Kahlin (tlr) ha rilasciato il suo nuovo aggiormamento (non ufficiale).

Le novita’ e i fix sono gli stessi dei firmware custom precedenti e vi consigliamo di leggere l’History qui di seguito.

E’ stato rilasciato un nuovo aggiornamento firmware per l’interfaccia 1541 Ultimate di Gideon. Questa versione del firmware funziona con tutte e due le versioni della cartuccia Ultimate 1541.

Major improvement in latest release:

• REU fixed.
• Timing module for cartridge slot simplified to make things work on an SX-64.
• D64 listing corrected for some non-conformant files.
• Most audio options disabled for Ultimate-I.
• A lot of small things modified under the hood (not yet visible as feature for the user.)
• Some testing done on both Ultimate-I as well as Ultimate-II.

EasyProg e’ un programma per C64/C128 e serve per programmare (aggiornare) e manipolare i files in formato (*.crt) per la cartuccia EasyFlash.

Version 1.5.2 – 20.07.2011:

• Fix an issue with Am29F040 sector erase which e.g. caused some games not to be able to save their game states.
• Allow operations when no known flash chips where found, this makes it possible to use this version of EasyProg for the AlienFlash too.
