La “High Voltage SID Collection (HVSC)” è un collezione che raccoglie migliaia di brani musicali del Commodore 64 (noti anche come brani SID).
Questa collezione e’ completamente gratuita ed e’ opera di un Team di persone che negli anni ha lavorato per rendere la migliore raccolta di SID tunes.

- 20 fixed/better rips
- 1 repeats/bad rips eliminated
- 49 SID credit fixes
- 94 SID model/clock infos
- 4 tunes from /DEMOS/UNKNOWN/ identified
- 2 tunes from /GAMES/ identified
- 17 tunes moved out of /DEMOS/ to their composers’ directories
- 6 tunes moved out of /GAMES/ to their composers’ directories

ARM2SID SIDs & SFX Sound Expander (OPL FM synthesis) emulator
Nobomi ci stupisce ancora con l’ARM2SID il nuovo “emulatore” del chip audio SID (fino a 3 contemporaneamente) del Commodore 64/128 e SFX Sound Expander ( OPL FM).
Il formato dell’ARMSID e’ DIP28 ed e’ assolutamente identico al chip originale e dunque si adatta perfettamente a tutte le situazioni.
La qualita’ audio e’ veramente buona sia per l’emulazione SFX Sound Expander (OPL FM) che per il SID.
Inoltre e’ possibile aggiungere un secondo socket come secondo SID se si dispone di un’adattatore Stereo/U64/Reloaded oppure collegare i cavi direttamente al Computer.
- Fino a 12 canali musicali contemporaneamente (due o tre SID o FM o un SID e FM)!
- Funziona con tutte le schede C64 e C128 (leggere il manuale)
- Modalita’ Stereo con qualsiasi combinazione del SID 6581 oppure 8580.
- Fallback automatico su dual mono se non si utilizza il secondo SID.
- Configurazione e aggiornamenti vengono fatti tramite software che gira sul C64/C128.

Ero molto incuriosito da quello che aveva scritto ZeroPaige nella descrizione del gioco Super Mario Bros 64, ovvero che sul C64 DTV veniva utilizzata la modalita’ Turbo.
Ho provato il gioco sul mio C64 DTV upgradato e in effetti e’ molto piu’ fluifo, direi perfetto a parte qualche glitch grafico ogni tanto.
Qui di seguito quello che scrive ZeroPaige riguardo la modalita’ Turbo:
Since the NES-processor is clocked (roughly 70%) faster than a stock C64 there can be slowdowns during gameplay. A pixel indicates this on the time-watch graphics in the status bar.
This port will try to detect and use any kind of turbo functionality, such as:
- Commodore 128 (2 MHz in the border)
- C64 DTV
- Schnedler Systems Turbo Master CPU (untested)
- Swisscomp Turbo Processor (untested)
- Rossmoeller Flash 8 (untested)
- CMD SuperCPU Accelerator (untested)

DirMaster è un programma per la gestione dei files del Commodore 64, del tipo (D64,. D81. T64, ecc) e anche i formati compressi ad esempio: Arc. Sda. lnx, ecc. Il programma DirMaster gira sotto M$ Windows.
Bug risolti in questa versione:
- Workaround for high dpi issues reported by users on Windows 10 (Windows 7/8 still affected, known issue)
- Drag/drop from a disk image to the file system handles “broken” files more gracefully.
- Corrects issue moving .cvt files between disk images.
- Page up/down works in the petscii column on the sector editor.
- Tweaks: hexedit font toggling, BAM view, Explorer preview font size.

La nuova versione della PenUltimate+ cartridge anche se apparentemente sembra identica alla versione precedente non lo e’ perche’ sono state fatte delle modifiche e un aggiornamento software per il supporto del software Diagnostico DeadTest+.
Tutte le cartridge prodotte da Dicembre 2018 includono il supporto del software diagnostico DeadTest+
Il software Diagnostico DeadTest+ puo’ essere eseguito tramite menu oppure mantenendo premuto il tasto di reset per 10 secondi all’accensione.
Rispetto alla prima versione la Penultimate+ include ancora più ROM (70+) e una nuovissima interfaccia utente.
Sono stati inclusi alcuni giochi di tfw8b (The Future Was 8Bit) tra cui Cheese & Onion, RodMan, Pentagorat (Easier edition) e molti altri.
Naturalmente la PenUltimate+ cartridge resta la miglior Ram Pack per il VIC-20, la RAM di espansione da 3-35k può essere selezionata direttamente dal menu.

Il mio nome è “ittero” e il mio cognome è “fortunato”. :-)
Perche “fortunato” ? perche’ la batteria utilizzata in questo Amiga non era della VARTA ma GP, queste batterie resistono leggermente di piu’ all’invecchiamento e rilasciano meno acido.
L’unico difetto che aveva questo Amiga 500 Plus era il Floppy Drive che non leggeva nessun Floppy Disk, il motore girava piu’ lento del normale, e’ stato sufficiente sostituire un condensatore elettrolitico da 4.7uF per farlo funzionare nuovamente.

Questo Amiga 2000 era arrivato nel mio laboratorio in pessime condizioni nel lontano Aprile 2016, il computer e’ stato riparato e riposto in una busta antistatica.
Provato a distanza di quasi 3 anni, il computer non da segni di vita.
Non avendo nessun output video ho utilizzato la DIAGROM di Chucky che tramite collegamento seriale sono riuscito a identificare 2 problemi diversi con le RAM.
Difetto:
Riparazione:
- Ricostruita pista interrotta lato DX 68000 vicino resistor pack RP900 (precedentemente buona)
- Ricostruita pista interrotta RAM U529 segnale CAS (precedentemente buona)
- Sostituita RAM LM33256 U501 con TMS 4256 (precedentemente funzionante)
