This project began many years ago as a simple graphics converter for Atari but over the years the features are significantly increased. The converter runs under Windows.

SIO2SD new Firmware v3.1RC1

The SIO2SD is a device that allows you to load games/applications into any 8-bit Atari XL/XE computers via SIO interface from SD/MMC cards.

Changelog (3.0rc5 -> 3.1rc1):

  • Virtual disks simplification.
  • Fixed turbo routines – emulation of Top-Drive (aka TOMS) and XF551.
  • More compatible SIO routines (return to timings from version 2.x – slower, but more reliable)
  • Ordinary files and empty disks are emulated as SD disks if possible (size < 90k)

After 8 long months of waiting i finally received the Ultimate 1Mb module by Candle’o'Sin.

The Ultimate 1Mb module is a expansion for Atari XE/XL.

This module allows a easy installation regardless of machine type one chooses and is not intrusive to original hardware. The Ultimate 1Mb was designed to fit in any XL/XE computer, including 1200XL and XEGS – there are no versions as such, the only diffrence might be with lenght of ribbon cables it connects to motherboard

Features:

  • To be as much solderless as possible (only RW, PHI2, HALT and RESET lines need soldering)
  • Fully flashable SpartaDOS-X with up to 320kbytes for its purposes
  • RTC module for SDX with battery backup and NVRAM
  • Fully flashable 4 OS ROM slots
  • Hardware WRITE PROTECT for whole Flash array
  • Configurable memory expansion with 4 modes of operation (disabled, 320k RAMBO, 578k COMPY SHOP, 1088k RAMBO)
  • Customizable BASIC and MISSLE COMMAND slots (also flashable)
  • System select/Memory exp mode select from integrated BIOS

ASAP v3.1.1 – Another Slight Atari Player

ASAP is a player of 8-bit Atari music for modern computers and mobile devices. It emulates the POKEY sound chip and the 6502 processor.

The project was initially based on the routines from the Atari800 emulator, but the current version has a completely new original emulation core.

Changelog ASAP 3.1.1 (2011-10-26):

  • Converted XEX files may optionally display information.
  • Fixed conversion of some TYPE D SAP files (e.g. Saturday_Demo.sap) to XEX.
  • Fixed time detection for some FC files.

Atari Dos: SpartaDOS X v4.45

SpartaDOS X (or SpartaDOS 4.0) is a disk operating system for the Atari 8-bit family of computers, that closely resembles MS-DOS. It was developed and sold by ICD, Inc. in 1987-93.

Ten years later SpartaDOS X considered abandonware has been picked up by its enthusiasts, and developed further. These unofficial revisions, incorporating many of the utilities written since 1992, cleaning many identified problems and including numerous improvements, are:

  • v4.31 (2005)
  • v4.39RC (2006)
  • v4.40 (a leaked-out beta, 2006)
  • v4.41 (Feb. 2008)
  • v4.42 (Dec. 2008)
  • v4.4.3 (Apr.2011)
  • v4.4.4 (Jun.2011)
  • v4.4.5 (Nov.2011)

The new SpartaDOS X 4.45 runs on the following hardware platforms:

  • intSDX128
  • intSDX128 “flash”
  • Maxflash 1Mb
  • Maxflash 8Mb (contains MAN on-line help)
  • Altirra and Atari800 emulators
  • Turbo Freezer 2005 (contains MAN on-line help, use with Freezer ROM only)

ASAP v3.1.0 – Another Slight Atari Player

ASAP is a player of 8-bit Atari music for modern computers and mobile devices. It emulates the POKEY sound chip and the 6502 processor.

The project was initially based on the routines from the Atari800 emulator, but the current version has a completely new original emulation core.

Changelog ASAP 3.1.0 (2011-09-24):

  • WASAP/Winamp/Apollo/XMPlay file information window now includes STIL (SAP Tune Information List) and technical data.
  • Added Future Composer (*.fc) format (contributed by Jerzy Kut).
  • Written specification of the SAP format.
  • XMPlay displays STIL, tracker name and RMT instrument names.
  • The 64-bit setup package now includes the Windows Media Player plugin (useful for the Vista/7 sidebar WMP gadget).
  • Java release now includes asap.jar for WUDSN IDE.
  • asapplay in the D programming language has been ported to Linux and 64-bit compilers (by Adrian Matoga).
